Small-man-syndrome is real as far as the prison officers are concerned. A short-arse in jail is going to get screwed from pillar to post unless he kicks up at the drop of a hat. Fellas with short fuses tend to get left alone - by their fellow lags. Not so the officers. Prisoners, being on the whole as thick as shit, don't know when to kick off with other lags or with the screws. The officers often find themselves having to "correct" the dim short-arse...
